Who we are
Waypoints Labs Pte. Ltd. ("Waypoints Labs", "we") is a company registered in Singapore, UEN 202643912W. This policy covers our apps and this website, waypoints.sg. We follow Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Our apps
Each of our apps has its own section on this page that says exactly what it does with data. We add an app's section before the app is released.
Our aim for every app is the App Store privacy label "Data Not Collected". In practice that means:
- Your data stays with you. What you keep in our apps is stored on your iPhone, and we never see it.
- No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Our apps do not ask you to sign up, show no ads, and contain no tracking or analytics code.
- Permissions only for what you ask. If an app asks for a permission, for example to send a reminder, it uses it only for that feature, on your phone.
- Purchases go through Apple. Apple handles all payments. We never see your name, your Apple Account or your card details.
- Crash reports. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us crash reports. They do not tell us who you are.
Samvatsara
Samvatsara is our Hindu calendar for iPhone. On the App Store it is called "Samvatsara: Hindu Panchang". It works out every date and time on your phone, from the positions of the sun and moon. It has no account, no ads and no server. It sends nothing to us, and we never see your data. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
What stays on your iPhone
Samvatsara keeps these inside the app, on your phone, and uses them only to show your calendar:
- Your city, and a second city if you add one.
- Your settings, such as region, tradition, month style and background colour.
- The festivals you save with the heart, and whether you want a reminder for each.
- Your weekly fast day, if you choose one, and its reminder.
The home screen widget reads the same settings from your phone. Samvatsara itself never sends any of this to us or to anyone else.
Your location
Samvatsara asks for your location only if you tap Use my location while choosing a city. Your iPhone then finds your approximate position, once. The app picks the nearest city from the list inside the app, on your phone, and does not keep the position. You can always search for your city instead. You can turn location off at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under Privacy & Security, Location Services, Samvatsara.
Reminders and your calendar
Reminders are notifications that Samvatsara sets up on your phone. The app asks for permission the first time you turn a reminder on. You can turn them off at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Add to my calendar is on each festival's page, and on a festival you save. It opens Apple's own calendar screen, with the festival filled in. Samvatsara adds nothing to your calendar. The entry goes in only if you save it on that screen. Samvatsara cannot read your calendar, and cannot see or change the entry afterwards.
Your own data, through Apple
Reminders and calendar entries are yours. If your calendar syncs through iCloud or another account, an entry you add syncs with it, under that service's privacy terms. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, the backup can include Samvatsara's settings, as it does for any app. We cannot see any of it.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is sold through the App Store, and Apple takes the payment. Samvatsara asks Apple, from your phone, whether the unlock was bought, and remembers the answer on your phone. We never see your name, your Apple Account or your card details.
No analytics, no tracking
Samvatsara contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, ours or anyone else's. It has no crash reporting of its own. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us crash reports. They do not tell us who you are.
Deleting your data
Delete the app, and everything it keeps on your phone goes with it. Calendar entries you added stay in your calendar until you delete them there. The unlock stays with your Apple Account, so Restore purchase brings it back if you install the app again.

NavikTax
NavikTax is our app for Indian seafarers, for iPhone and Android. It counts the days you spend in India in a tax year, helps you plan your sign-off, and makes a PDF statement of your trips and days for your own tax return. It has no account, no ads and no server. It sends nothing to us, and we never see your data. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
What stays on your phone
NavikTax keeps these inside the app, on your phone, and uses them only for your count and your PDF:
- Your trips: the dates, ports, ship name, flag and rank you enter.
- Your details, if you choose to enter them: name, PAN, passport number, CDC numbers and INDoS number. They are optional and go only into the PDF you export.
- Photos you take or choose of your CDC pages and passport stamps. They are stored as files inside the app.
- Your answers to the three yearly questions, and the day totals you type for earlier years.
- Your language choice.
Your phone's own backup (iCloud on iPhone, your Google account on Android) includes the app's folder, as it does for any app, under your own account. We have no access to it.
The PDF and the backup file
The PDF statement and the backup file are made on your phone. They leave it only when you share them yourself, through the phone's share sheet, to WhatsApp, Mail, Files or wherever you send them. We never receive them. The backup file holds everything in the app, photos included, so keep it somewhere you trust.
Camera and photos
NavikTax asks for camera or photo-library permission only when you tap a photo box on a trip, and uses it only to take or pick that one photo. You can refuse, and the app works without photos.
No analytics, no tracking
NavikTax contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, ours or anyone else's. It works with no internet connection. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your phone's settings, Apple or Google may send us crash reports. They do not tell us who you are.
Deleting your data
Delete the app, and everything it keeps on your phone goes with it. PDFs and backup files you shared stay wherever you sent them, until you delete them there.
Not advice
NavikTax is not a government app and gives no tax advice. It states days from the dates you enter. What you do with the statement is between you and your tax adviser.

Merry-Go-Drop
Merry-Go-Drop is our arcade game for iPhone and iPad. It has no account, no ads and no server. It sends nothing to us, and we never see your data. Its only connection is to Apple's App Store, for the free trial, the unlock and Restore purchase. Everything else plays offline. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
What stays on your device
Merry-Go-Drop keeps these inside the app, on your iPhone or iPad, and uses them only for the game:
- Your scores: your best score and the top 10 for each mode.
- The names you type for the top 10, and the last three, so you can pick them again.
- Your settings: the mode you play and whether the sound is on.
- What you have seen: How to play and the hint for each tray trick, so they do not show every time.
- The trial's clock: the latest date the game has seen, so turning the clock back does not stretch the free trial.
There is no online leaderboard. Nobody else sees your names or scores. If you back up your device to iCloud or to a computer, the backup can include them, as it does for any app. We cannot see it.
Purchases
The free 7-day trial and the one-time unlock are in-app purchases on the App Store, and Apple takes any payment. Merry-Go-Drop asks Apple, from your device, whether you started the trial or bought the unlock, and when the trial started. We never see your name, your Apple Account or your card details.
No analytics, no tracking
Merry-Go-Drop contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, ours or anyone else's, and it does not use Game Center. It has no crash reporting of its own. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may send us crash reports. They do not tell us who you are.
Deleting your data
Delete the app, and your scores and names go with it. The trial and the unlock stay with your Apple Account, so Restore purchase brings the unlock back if you install the game again. Installing it again does not start a new free trial.
